About us

The Data Driven Districts Dashboard is an approachable, highly intuitive dashboard that displays appropriate education-related information to education officials at all levels in the South African schooling system.

DDD brings data collected from schools across the country to life visually, helping education officials to make informed data driven decisions which can ultimately lead to improved learner outcomes across the South African school system.

DDD has been rolled out in partnership with the DBE with a national MOU underpinning a strong working relationship.

Programme Impact

How many Learners Reached?

The DDD Dashboard provides data & information down to an individual learner level; giving School Management Teams as well as district and provincial officials essential information to give learners the support they need.

Schools Supported

The DDD team empowers schools to collect and improve the quality of the data they are submitting. The combination of stricter submission controls, immediate feedback, and measured and reported data scores has given administrators renewed ownership of their own data.

Districts Launched

The DDD Programme is active in 7 provinces, with consultants building capability through training and support to education officials to ensure data collection and use.

Zanemvula Dingaan

Circuit Manager, Free State

Mr Dingaan is a Circuit Manager in Xhariep, Free State. Xhariep was the best performing district in the 2016 NSC examinations. Mr Dingaan is a DDD Dashboard Super User and values the convenience of having his schools' information at a touch of a button.

Mr Dingaan was immediately eager to see the full functionality of the dashboard, “ I know that technology requires you to get into it and see what it is all about. If you’re afraid, you’ll never know! I went into the dashboard and voila! I surfed the whole website to see what each section offered”.

“As a Circuit Manager, my job is all encompassing and the dashboard has really increased my passion for the job”. The first thing I look at is the results and see what is red to identify where there are challenges. Achievement is a top priority and these results are effected by both learner and educator attendance.” Mr Dingaan’s duties include monitoring the basic functionality of the schools and ensuring that documentation requirements are met.

With the mobile functionality of the dashboard, Mr Dingaan can open his phone or laptop and engage in data driven conversations with school principals across his circuit. “I make full use of district resources in order to present the dashboard information to the principals”.
